BECOME A MEMBER

As President of the Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society (POS), I would like to personally extend an invitation to you to become a member in this active society.

The POS is a voluntary, educational, and scientific organization dedicated to the promotion of the finest traditions of the profession.  The Society hosts meetings the first Thursday from September through February.

In person meetings will be held at a local restaurant or venue central to the north side of Pittsburgh, with the first lecture taking place at 4:30 pm and the 2nd lecture beginning at 7:00 pm (during dinner).

Application Process:   The application process requires three current members of the Society to endorse applicants. View the current member roster.

Please complete the application and return to Nadine Popovich, administrator (npopovich@acms.org).  Once approved for membership, an invoice will be sent. Annual membership dues are $400.00, which cover the cost of all dinner meetings, provides honoraria and expenses for speakers, in addition to all administrative costs for the society.

In March, the society holds an annual meeting at a downtown hotel with nationally known speakers.  After the meeting, join fellow colleagues for an evening of camaraderie at the Annual Banquet. Members will receive notification once a date and location are determined.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Popovich at

412/321-5030 or by email to npopovich@acms.org.

Sincerely,

Pamela P. Rath, MD

WISH TO RENEW? Here is an Invitation to Attend a meeting of Your Choice

To welcome you back to the organization, the POS is inviting you, as a guest of the Society, to attend one monthly meeting of your choice. Meetings are held September through February.  This invitation is extended to members who have let their membership lapse for 2+ years or to those that have never been a member.

At each monthly meeting, we invite distinguished guest faculty from around the country representing varied sub-specialties to present lectures and participate in Grand Rounds.  Our meetings provide an excellent opportunity to engage in a smaller group setting with the invited speakers and fellow POS members in a relaxed setting. Social time is always built into our meetings for the opportunity to meet and get to know one another.  CME credit is provided.

We are fortunate as an organization to serve a vibrant greater ophthalmology community here in Pittsburgh and welcome your return as an integral part of that community.   To take advantage of this opportunity and to register, please contact Nadine Popovich, administrator, who can assist and answer questions you may have. Ms. Popovich can be reached at (412) 321-5030 or email to npopovich@acms.org

I hope your schedule permits you to join us and I look forward to welcoming as a renewed member!

Sincerely,

Pamela P. Rath, MD
